31 days - 31 posts (again)

Well, I tried to...
My mother-in-law, Gram, passed away
& I went on a blogging hiatus.

I'm going to try to write 31 days again this year
because I never achieved my goal of posting 3 times a week afterwards.
Chances are that I won't post every single day,
but I'll do my best.
Although I enjoy blogging,
I'm a busy mama
who loves baby cuddles
& playing with my children more (;
Really though.
They're only the ages they are once
& I don't want to miss out in finding joy in the journey.

You can check back here to see each of my 31 posts,
or just follow my blog to save the hassle (:

Sponsors & Ad Spaces?

So I've been toying with this crazy idea for a while now...
I'm thinking about possibly adding a sponsors section to my sidebar.
My blog is only a little over a year old.
Am I crazy?

I've always wanted to actually make money blogging,
but income with AdSense is reeeally slow
& MyRecipeMagic has only paid me once
although I thought they would send it to my PayPal monthly.
Anywho...
I'm not trying to say that those options don't work,
I'm just saying that they haven't benefited me all that much.

Again, am I crazy for wanting to add sponsors on this lil' blog?
Where should I start if I decide to take that route?
Has anyone had any luck with Passionfruit?
What ad space sizes would you like to see?
How many ad spaces should I offer?
What should pricing be for each size since I'm just starting out with it?
How many of you wonderful readers out there would actually want to be a sponsor?
Any experienced bloggers out there have any input for me?

Email me at
lifeisfantasmic {at} hotmail {dot} com
if you're interested in becoming a sponsor
or if you have any advice...
Thanks!

31 days - 31 posts

I am terrible at posting regularly.
I tend to only post things when my thoughts are complete (for the most part)
which means that some of my posts end up quite lengthy,
& some are never posted.
I want to remedy that.
My goal is to update my blog at least 3 times a week.
People say that if you do something consistently for 30 days it becomes a habit, right?
I don't really want to feel obligated to post every day,
but if posting every day for a month will increase the likelihood of me attaining that goal,
I'm all for trying it.

I found out about this challenge because a couple of my favorite bloggers are doing it.
Over the next 31 days...
Kimmie from Sugar and Dots is blogging about her quest for the perfect life,
Rachelle from Fingerprints on the Fridge will be posting one project each day,
& although I won't be blogging about any topic inparticular,
I will be actually posting actual posts every day
instead of just a few times a month!
Or at least that's the plan...
We'll see how it goes.
Here's for day 1?

I'll be linking this post up over at The Nester where a bazillion other bloggers are attempting this challenge.
Let me know if you're trying a 31 day challenge this month so we can keep each other motivated (:
Wish me luck!
xoxo

Alright, alright...
You caught me.
I wasn't able to do it for 31 days straight.
From Day 10 on I've had a lot going on to prevent that.
I will definitely try this again sometime though!

Day 1: I'm totally counting this post.

Life is Fantasmic

If you've ever been to Disneyland, Disney's Hollywood Studios, or Tokyo DisneySea
you may be familiar with my favorite nighttime spectacular, Fantasmic!
All three versions are different, but have the same basic outline.
Although I've never been to the Tokyo Disney resort, I would love to go someday to check it out!

Anywho,
So in Fantasmic...
Mickey is dreaming and his imagination gets the better of him.
It's an epic battle between good vs evil,
and as we all know,
good always conquers evil in the end.

Life is a constant battle between choosing good over evil or right over wrong.
and although evil may be enticing at times,
we will be much happier in the long run when we choose good.

My life is quite similar to Mickey's dream.
I have a powerful imagination.
I love to dream.
There have been times in my life where I have let my imagination get the better of me.
I have made wrong choices.
However,
much like the power of Mickey's imagination that defeats the evil in his dream,
the power of Christ's atonement has helped me overcome the wrong choices I've made.
It has helped me become much happier & I am forever thankful for that.

Dreams can seem incredibly real while we are having them,
no matter how bizarre they may be.
I remember my dreams quite often & they are almost always bizarre.
When I tell Hubby that "I had a weird dream last night"
he always responds with, "You mean you had a dream last night",
because he already knows all of my dreams are weird.
"Some imagination, huh?"

Think about actual life for a second.
The exact moment we are in seems real, right?
Think back to your childhood,
last year,
last week,
yesterday,
or even 5 seconds ago.
To me, those moments now seem like a dream.
They seem surreal.
We can never recapture that moment exactly.
It's weird to think about actually.

That's why it's so great to live in the now.
Enjoy the moment while it lasts,
because that exact moment will never happen again.
I want to be able to remember those great moments in my life before I forget them.
I want to be able to re-live them through my blog.
I used to be absolutely wonderful at journaling.
Writing every day about the silly mundane things going on in my life.
Writing about friends & boys I had a crush on.
Writing about my thoughts or even the weather.
For the most part, I enjoy re-reading my journals.
There are plenty of happy parts,
& also some sad parts.
"Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it you can either run from it, or... learn from it."
- Rafiki -
I choose to learn from it & hope my posterity can do the same.

I created this blog for that reason among many others.
We've been married almost 6 years & I have yet to write about our wedding.
That's how much I've slacked on writing in my journal.
I regret that entirely.
I hope to be better at writing on this blog much in the way that I used to write in my journal.
I want to remember the important things & learn from the tough moments.
I want to write about the fantastic but ever so surreal moments that happen in my life.

Because life is fantasmic.

Why I created another blog

Pinterest.

I'm sure that I'm not the only one that goes on there & sees a gazillion great ideas of crafts I want to try, food I want to make, things I want to do with my kids or my husband, & who knows how many other ideas of pure genius that just get pinned to a board to look at later. Meanwhile, those boards keep on filling up & before you know it, it takes forever to go back through & organize them so you can find those great ideas easier. That is why I decided to take a break from pinterest for a while & actually try some of these things.

I created this blog so that I can easily see which things I've tried & loved, go back to them later & enjoy them all over again. Whether it be food (okay, let's be honest... I'm sure most of it will be), organization tips & tricks that I find helpful, or things that my kids & hubby really enjoy, I will be posting it on here so that I can refer back to it a lot easier.

Let's just call it what it is, my own personal pinboard...
