While growing up, we had this Sunday tradition
of eating roast for dinner after church & chocolate chip cookies for dessert...
My mom STILL makes a delicious roast every Sunday
& then makes these yummy cookies for dessert!
& then makes these yummy cookies for dessert!
1 cup butter (softened)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups chocolate chips
Cream butter & sugar. Beat in egg & vanilla. Add dry ingredients & combine; stir in the chocolate chips.
Bake with love at 375 degrees for about 10-12 minutes.
Note: These cookies taste best when you reserve a tiny handful of chocolate chips for each person to eat on the side while they are baking ;)

YUM they sound perfect :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! What a great memory and tradition! We often had roast on Sunday, but it would have been a lot better if it had been followed up by these delicious cookies! I 'd love for you to share this at my Creative Ways Link Party when you get a chance. Hope to see you there!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Nici
I love the tradition and you just can't beat classic chocolate chip cookies!
ReplyDeleteHopped over from City of Creative Dreams Linky Party...I LOVE chocolate chip cookies. As a matter of fact my kids and I are gonna make some this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think our moms should be BFF's because that is exactly how it was for us. We always looked forward to Sunday roast and cookies. I will have to try these cookies now!
ReplyDeleteYUMMY! Hubby likes a classic Sunday dinner after church too, I like a nice variety, but a roast of some kind in the crock pot is never a bad dinner! And cookies for dessert - I would love to come to your house after dinner every Sunday. It's a little harder on the years we have church at 1 pm to get a great delicious dinner in, that's when the crock pot is imperitive.
ReplyDeleteI found this delicous looking recipe on City of Creative Links Party and I would be thrilled if you would come share this one on my recipe link party The Yuck Stops Here as well. This week's party doesn't end until Sunday at 8pm ET, but if you can't make it before then, come by next week starting Tuesday evening at 8pm ET to share! You can always find us on my blog, Hot Momma's Kitchen Chaos. Hope to see you there! HUGS
I love your little note! Of course they taste better that way! Cookies are definitely one of my favorite desserts!
ReplyDeleteI love cookies! Pinned. Hugs~ Lou Lou Girls
